Challenges

Our goal was to create a online store solution, starting with the creation of branding, corporate identity, e-commerce design, custom programming and marketing strategy design and implementation. The solution is to bring customers new opportunities to purchase balloons, which did not yet exist in the segment. The second goal was to automate as many processes as possible from the actual processing to sending the order, in order to streamline employee time.

The primary goal was to bring a way that would allow customers to easily add text, name or age to the cart without having to click through the categories and search for suitable balloons. The result of the solution should be the ability to add the required balloons to the cart with one click.

Branding

When designing the brand, we were quite clear. We wanted to come up with a brand that would be easy to remember and that the e-shop range would be clear from hearing. The logo was supposed to reflect the love and desire for balloon decoration and for the happiness and emotions that are so obvious during the celebrations.

Navigation and real-time search

Designing the right navigation across the entire e-shop is a key point for a visitor to become a customer. For this reason, we placed great emphasis on the categorization of products and the method of classification in the main navigation of the e-shop.

For the main menu, we designed a mega menu that works very well on the desktop and on the phone. Navigation is fast and efficient.

Real-time search is an important part of navigation. Technically, we achieved this by choosing ElasticSearch technology, in which we created indexes of all products and categories. The search is possible by name, description, product code and categories, and the resulting solution works very well.

An interesting feature with which we wanted to connect beautiful photos from customer celebrations with Balonikovo.sk products is tagging branters. You will certainly be familiar with this feature from various social networks. We brought her to this project. With the help of tagging, we can direct customers directly from the banner to a specific product.

Balloon configurator

What we are really proud of is the balloon generator, which allows customers to add full names or ages of balloons to the cart with just one click "Add to cart". We have created a system that saves a lot of time and effort for customers. Customers can dedicate this time to further preparations for the celebration.

 

Sustainability, performance and scalability

In order for the client to be able to rely on our solution, it was very important that we choose the right technologies. It is not enough if the e-shop is nice. We needed to design the solution in such a way that it could adapt to the unexpected situations that are common in the world of trade.

To achieve good scalability and performance, we have built proven technologies for years. It was very important to set up a proper code quality control process and automatic testing. The complete solution is built on top of Docker and Kubernetes, thanks to which we were able to ensure scalability in a short time.
